The Sensex is now at 17,790, up 98 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,322, up 32 points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have advanced 2% each to Rs 971 and Rs 307, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Steel and HDFC Bank have added over 1% each at Rs 156, Rs 659 and Rs 1,958, respectively.
Infosys and TCS are down 1% each at Rs 2,645 and Rs 804, respectively.
Among the sectoral indices, bankex and realty indices have added 1% each on the BSE.
IT index on the other hand is down 1% at 5,316.
