Sensex firm; Reliance gains 4%

The Sensex opened 79 points higher at 9,126. The index touched a high of 9,219, and is now up 146 points at 9,193.

Reliance Communications, Reliance and Reliance Infrastructure have surged 4% each to Rs 181, Rs 1,190 and Rs 524, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Jaiprakash Associates and NTPC have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 419, Rs 66 and Rs 171, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Tata Power have moved up 2.3% each to Rs 618 and Rs 754, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced around 2% each to Rs 720 and Rs 325, respectively.

DLF has plunged over 3% to Rs 196. Wipro has shed 2% at Rs 231.

 

TCS had dropped 1.8% to Rs 501. Grasim and Tata Steel are down 1% each at Rs 1,280 and Rs 196, respectively.
