The Sensex after the initial uncertainty has firmed up and is now up 255 points at 8,706.
Sterlite has surged nearly 5% to Rs 210. Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL and TCS have rallied 4.5% each to Rs 445, Rs 1,248 and Rs 490, respectively.
Reliance Communications, ONGC and Hindalco have gained 4.3% each at Rs 190, Rs 678 and Rs 52, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has advanced over 4% to Rs 62. Infosys and Mahindra & Mahindra have moved up nearly 4% each to Rs 1,171 and Rs 313, respectively.
HDFC and Tata Motors have added 3.5% each to Rs 1,336 and Rs 131, respectively.
SBI, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel and Maruti are up around 3% each at Rs 1,128, Rs 734, Rs 610 and Rs 497, respectively.
All index stocks are in positive zone.
