Sensex flat

The Sensex, which mopped up decent gaint to touch a high of 6,855 in early trades, eased in later trades on selective selling pressure. After slipping to a low of 6,819, the Sensex is now flat at 6,833. The Nifty is down a point at 2,102.

Infosys is holding on to its gains at Rs 2,238 - up Rs 17, while TCS has dipped by Rs 6 to Rs 1,265. Wipro and Satyam are marginally up at Rs 723 and Rs 474, respectively.

ONGC is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 923.

HDFC Bank has gained 1.25% (Rs 7) to Rs 590, while other banking majors are displaying a divergent trend.

Hero Honda is trading 1.35% lower (Rs 7) at Rs 538. Other auto counters, too, are largely weak.

Bharti has scaled up 2.21% (Rs 5) to Rs 227, and Tisco is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 335. HDFC is down 1.36% (Rs 11) at Rs 819.
