Sensex flat after slipping into red

The Sensex slipped into the red to a low of 13,823 but recovered in a short while. It is now flat at 13,893.

Ranbaxy has rallied 7% to Rs 236. Tata Power and DLF have surged 4% each to Rs 1,087 and Rs 346, respectively.

Sterlite has gained 3% at Rs 522. Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Communications have advanced 2% each. Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have also moved up.

On the other hand, ONGC continues to slump 3% at Rs 1,010. Wipro and Infosys have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 362 and Rs 1,498, respectively.

NTPC, SBI and Reliance have declined 1%.

 

The market breadth is extremily postive - out of 2,292 stocks traded, 1,946 have advanced while 314 have declined.
