Sensex flat at 13,901; Hindalco gains 4%

The Sensex slipped into the negative zone and had touched a low of 13,901.

However, the index recovered and is now 14 points higher at 13,928.

Hindalco has gained 4% at Rs 80. Sterlite has added over 3.5% to Rs 558.

HDFC has advanced 3% each to Rs 2,148.

Infosys, BHEL, Reliance Infrastructures and Sun Pharma are up over 2% each at Rs 1,545, Rs 2,042, Rs 1,154 and Rs 1,343, respectively.

Tata Seel and ACC have moved up over 1.5% each.

Hindustan Unilever, Wipro, Grasim and DLF are the other gainers.

Bharti Airtel has slipped 4% to Rs 780. Ranbaxy has dropped over 2.5% to Rs 260.

 

NTPC is down 1% at Rs 211.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,380 shares traded, 2,014 have advanced , 336 have declined and 30 are unchanged on the BSE so far.
