Sensex flat; BHEL surges 6%, Ranbaxy drops 5%

The Sensex is now down three points at 11,304.

BHEL has surged almost 6% to Rs 2,262. Cipla has rallied 3% to Rs 656. Tata Steel and Tata Motors have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 536 and Rs 930, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has added 2% to Rs 2,751. Maruti is up 1.8% at Rs 870.

NTPC and Satyam have gained 1% each at Rs 135 and Rs 855, respectively.

Ranbaxy has plunged 4.7% to Rs 431. TCS has slipped 2.2% to Rs 1,925, and ONGC has dropped 2% to Rs 1,310.

HDFC has shed 1.6% to Rs 1,336. Larsen & Toubro and Infosys have declined 1.5% each to Rs 2,425 and Rs 2,990, respectively.

ITC is down 1.4% at Rs 196, and Bharti Tele is down 1% at Rs 411.

Out of 2,503 stocks traded so far, 1,720 have advanced, 727 have declined and 56 are unchanged.
