Sensex flat; HDFC, HDFC drop 2%

The Sensex is now almost flat 12,887, up three points.

SBI, Ranbaxy, Hero Honda, Reliance Communications, ICICI Bank and HLL have advanced over 1% each to Rs 1,044, Rs 416, Rs 766, Rs 377, Rs 735 and Rs 234, respectively.

Tata Motors and ITC are the other prominent gainers.

HDFC Bank and HDFC have dropped 2% each to Rs 989 and Rs 1,485, respectively.

Satyam has slipped 1% to Rs 446. ONGC and  BHEL are the other major losers.
