Sensex flat; HDFC, Infosys slip

The Sensex touched a low of 12,422, and then rebounded into the positive zone. The index is now up unchanged at 12,454.

Bajaj Auto has gained 1.5% at Rs 3,040. Hindalco and Maruti are up nearly 1% each at Rs 173 and Rs 990, respectively.

ITC, Hero Honda and Gujarat Ambuja are the other prominent gainers.

HDFC has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,510, and Infosys has dropped over 1% to Rs 1,827.

Ranbaxy and Dr.Reddy's are the other significant losers.
