Sensex flat; ICICI, Ranbaxy gain 2%

The Sensex is almost flat at 13,964 - down two points.

ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy have surged 1.7% each to Rs 885 and Rs 401, respectively.

Grasim and Dr.Reddy's are up 1% each at Rs 2,490 and Rs 658, respectively.

Infosys, Hero Honda, Satyam and Wipro are the prominent losers.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,079 stocks traded so far, 1,129 have advanced, 869 have declined and 81 are unchanged.
