Sensex flat in early trades; ICICI up 2%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 53 points at 18,824, and touched a high of 18,856. The index soon tumbled into red and touched a low of 18,630.

The index has rebouned into the positive zone and is now flat at 18,773 - up two points.

Reliance Energy has surged 1.8% to Rs 1,680. Larsen & Toubro and ONGC have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 3,510 and Rs 1,130, respectively.

BHEL moved up 1.3% to Rs 2,320. ACC, Hindalco and ITC are up around 1% each at Rs 1,073, Rs 194 and Rs 185, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 2.4% to Rs 1,119. Grasim has dropped 1.5% to Rs 3,649, and Ambuja Cements has slipped over 1% to Rs 144.
