Sensex flat; ONGC gains 2%

The Sensex is now flat at 14,163.

ONGC has surged 2% to Rs 900. SBI and ICICI Bank have rallied 1.5% each to Rs 1,344 and Rs 922, respectively.

Hindalco is the other prominent gainer.

Hero Honda and Ranbaxy have tumbled 3% each to Rs 659 and Rs 363, respectively.

TCS and Bajaj Auto have slipped 1% each to Rs 1,171 and Rs 2,087, respectively.

Wipro, HDFC and Satyam are the other notable losers.

Out of 2,544 stocks traded so far, 1,247 have advanced, 1,229 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
