A heavy round of selling in the market saw the Sensex tumble into the negative zone to touch a low of 11,889 - down 198 points from the day's high of 12,087. The index is now almost flat at 11,940. ONGC has slumped 5% to Rs 1,317. Infosys has dropped 2.7% to Rs 3,139. Wipro has slipped 1.3% to Rs 542. Satyam is down 1% at Rs 770. ACC has shed 2.4% to Rs 945, and Grasim has tumbled 1.6% to Rs 2,340. Maruti has declined nearly 2% to Rs 907. Tata Motors is down over 1% at Rs 947. Tata Power and Reliance Energy are also trading with significant losses at Rs 550 and Rs 613, respectively. On the other hand. Reliance has moved up 1.8% to Rs 995. Hindalco is up 1.7% at Rs 218. TCS has gained 1.7% at Rs 1,975, and HDFC has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,316. Larsen & Toubro and ITC are up over 1% each at Rs 2,695 and Rs 204, respectively. The market breadth is still positive. Out of 2,543 stocks traded so far, 1,430 have advanced, 1,046 have declined and 67 are unchanged. |
