Sensex flat; Ranbaxy, Satyam weak

The Sensex is almost flat for the last 30 minutes or so, and is now up 10 points at 19,795.

ITC has soared 3.5% to Rs 196. Grasim has surged 2.7% to Rs 3,716.

Dr.Reddy's has rallied over 2% to Rs 613. Reliance and Bharti Airtel are the other prominent gainers.

Ranbaxy has shed 2.5% at Rs 413. Satyam has slipped 2% to Rs 420.

Infosys and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 1.2% each to Rs 1,633 and Rs 4,450, respectively.

ICICI Bank has declined 1% to Rs 1,236. Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever and Wipro are the other prominent losers.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,681 stocks traded so far, 1,970 have advanced, 660 have declined and 51 are unchanged.
