The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and touched a low of 13,972. The index is now almost unchanged at 14,041.
Tata Steel has surged 4% to Rs 499, and ACC has rallied 3.5% to Rs 626.
ITC has advanced nearly 3% to Rs 197. Hindustan Unilever is up over 1% at Rs 248.
Maruti and Satyam have dropped around 3% each to Rs 720 and Rs 359, respectively.
Tata Motors and ONGC have slipped around 2% each to Rs 414 and Rs 1,052, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Hindalco and BHEL have declined 1.3% each to Rs 2,610, Rs 111 and Rs 1,688, respectively.
NTPC, Wipro and Ranbaxy are down over 1% each at Rs 181, Rs 412 and Rs 353, respectively.
Out of 2,514 stocks traded so far, 1,256 have advanced, 1,174 have declined and 84 are unchanged.
