Sensex flat; Tata Steel up 3%

The Sensex is now down six points at 18,109.

The NSE Nifty is down eight points at 5,295.

Tata Steel has surged nearly 3% to Rs 842. Reliance Energy and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 1,743 and Rs 630, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Bajaj Auto have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 403 and Rs 2,208, respectively.

NTPC and Reliance Communications are up 1.3% each at Rs 207 and Rs 620, respectively.

ONGC has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,008. ITC has slipped over 2% to Rs 199.

Bharti Airtel, Wipro and Tata Motors have declined around 1.5% each at Rs 869, Rs 414 and Rs 739, respectively.

Infosys and BHEL are down over 1% each at Rs 1,547 and Rs 2,235, respectively.
