Sensex gains 239pts; ICICI, HDFC Bank lead

The Sensex opened 126 points higher at 9,550 as global markets continued to rally. The index is now up 239 points 9,663.

HDFC Bank has zoomed over 7% to Rs 948, and ICICI Bank has soared 5.7% to Rs 367.

DLF has surged 5% to Rs 176. Bharti Airtel, SBI and HDFC have rallied nearly 4% each to Rs 617, Rs 1,063 and Rs 1,587, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and Wipro have gained around 3% each at Rs 87 and Rs 246, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 620 and Rs 1,562, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Tata Steel, Maruti, TCS and Infosys are up around 2% each.
