Sensex gains 266pts; ONGC, Bharti rally

The Sensex is now up 266 points at 14,255.

ITC has zoomed nearly 5% to Rs 160. BHEL has soared 3.7% to Rs 1,650.

Tata Steel and Bharti Airterl have surged 3.5% each to Rs 565 and Rs 841, respectively.

Ambuja Cements has gained 3% at Rs 131. ONGC and Reliance Energy have moved up 2.8% each to Rs 812 and Rs 711, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 2.6% to Rs 627. Hindalco, Maruti and Hindustan Unilever have advanced over 2% each to Rs 139, Rs 785 and Rs 198, respectively.

Reliance and Reliance Communications are up 1.8% each at Rs 1,779 and Rs 492, respectively.

Cipla has plunged 3.5% to Rs 171. Tata Motors has declined over 1% to Rs 627.

Out of 2,554 stocks traded so far, 1,561 have declined, 953 have advanced and 40 are unchanged.
