Sensex heading northwards; 53 points up

The markets started off with smart gains as FII figures are showing signs of improvement after a week of sell off.

The Sensex is moving strong with a gain of 59 points at 6247, while the Nifty is up by a per cent at 1933.

Among the top gainers - Zee has moved up by 2%(Rs 3) to Rs 157, Cipla by 5%(Rs 2) to Rs 267, while Tata Power and Satyam computers are trading higher at Rs 367 each.

Bharati, HPCL and Grasim have scaled up by a per cent each at Rs 214, Rs 357 and Rs 1267 respectively.

BPCL leapt 4%(up Rs 18) at Rs 428 after it approves it's scheme of amalgamtion with Kochi Refineries.

Automobile pivotals are taking a beating, with Bajaj Auto plumenting by Rs 9 at 1062, while Tata Motors is trading flat but in the negative zone at Rs 475.
