The stock markets witnessed a free fall for the fifth straight day today on selling pressure by foreign funds on disappointing earnings by blue-chip companies.

The BSE Sensex, recording its fifth consecutive fall, settled down 32.52 points at 2,875.53, its lowest close since October 9, 2001. With this, the Sensex has lost over 130 points in the last past five trading session
