Sensex holds gains; DLF soars 7%

The Sensex touched a high of 10,186, and is now up 68 points at 10,144. Earlier in the day, the index opened 75 points lower at 10,001, and touched a low of 9,995.

DLF has surged 6.5% to Rs 295. Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied over 4.5% each to Rs 182 and Rs 322, respectively.

Maruti has soared over 4% to Rs 559. Tata Steel has gained 3.5% at Rs 230.

Jaiprakash Associates has advanced over 3% to Rs 87. Reliance Communications and Sterlite have added 2.7% each to Rs 216 and Rs 278, respectively.

Tata Power and Hindustan Unilever have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 745 and Rs 263, respectively.

 

Ranbaxy and ITC are up nearly 2% each at Rs 223 and Rs 184, respectively.

ONGC has plunged 3.5% to Rs 707. Satyam and TCS have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 167 and Rs 503, respectively.
