Sensex in red; BHEL up 5%, Ranbaxy down 4%

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 16 points at 11,291.

BHEL has surged 5.4% to Rs 2,251. Cipla and Tata Steel have spurted over 3% each to Rs 657 and Rs 539, respectively.

Tata Motors and Maruti have rallied over 2% each to Rs 929 and Rs 874, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has advanced 1.8% to Rs 2,743, and Gujarat Ambuja has moved up 1.6% to Rs 104.

Ranbaxy has slipped over 4% to Rs 433. TCS has dropped 2.2% to Rs 1,924.

ONGC has shed 1.8% to Rs 1,313. Larsen & Toubro and Infosys are down 1.3% each to Rs 2,430 and Rs 2,995, respectively.

Out of 2,484 stocks traded so far, 1,734 have advanced, 689 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
