Sensex in red, down 10pts; breadth turns -ve

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 10 points at 19,786.

Bharti Airtel has zoomed 5.3% to Rs 990. Infosys has soared 3.4% to Rs 1,691.

DLF has surged 2.8% to Rs 999. While HDFC Bank has advanced 2.2% to Rs 1,723, HDFC has added 1.8% to Rs 2,864.

ICICI Bank has rallied 1.6% to Rs 1,218. Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have gained 1.3% each at Rs 403 and Rs 728, respectively.

ITC has shed 2.4% at Rs 188. Tata Steel and Reliance have dropped 1.8% each to Rs 831 and Rs 2,822, respectively.

Reliance Energy has slipped 1.7% to Rs 1,914.

NTPC, BHEL and Ambuja Cements have declined 1.5% each to Rs 241, Rs 2,745 and Rs 152, respectively.

ACC, Hindalco and Grasim are the other major losers at Rs 1,069, Rs 190 and Rs 3,635, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,870 stocks traded so far, 1,514 have declined, 1,318 have advanced and 38 are unchanged.
