Sensex in red, down 10pts; NTPC drops 3%

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 10 points at 20,803. The index has shed almost 300 points from the day's high of 21,077 to a low of 20,787.

HDFC Bank has soared 2.6% to Rs 1,700, and SBI has  surged over 2% to Rs 2,455.

Bharti Airtel and ONGC have rallied nearly 2% each to Rs 955 and Rs 1,324, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 1.5% to Rs 823, and Satyam has added 1% to Rs 418.

NTPC has plunged 2.6% to Rs 262.

Hindalco and ICICI Bank have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 213 and Rs 1,342, respectively.

Grasim, Tata Steel and Reliance Energy have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 3,460, Rs 912 and Rs 2,548, respectively.

ACC and Cipla are down around 1% each at Rs 990 and Rs 210, respectively.
