Sensex in red; Reliance slips 3%

The Sensex opened almost flat at 9710 - down five points. The index moved up to a high of 9,814, but could not hold gains and slipped back into red. The index is now down 34 points at 9,681.

Satyam has soared 5.7% to Rs 167. Wipro has rallied over 3% to Rs 251.

Mahindra & Mahindra has surged 2.7% to Rs 312. ITC and TCS have moved up around 2% each to Rs 176 and Rs 486, respectively.

Infosys has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,157. Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications are up over 1% each at Rs 78, Rs 556 and Rs 205, respectively.

 

Reliance, DLF and Tata Steel have shed 3% each at Rs 1,309, Rs 246 and Rs 213, respectively.

ONGC has slipped 2.5% to Rs 700. HDFC, Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro are down around 1.5% each at Rs 1,511, Rs 700 and Rs 773, respectively.
