Sensex in striking distance of 12K, up 93pts

The Sensex is now up 93 points at 11,987.

Dr.Reddy's has surged 3.5% to Rs 763. Grasim has gained nearly 3% at Rs 2,393.

ICICI Bank, HLL and Satyam have advanced around 2% each at Rs 645, Rs 241 and Rs 818, respectively.

ACC, TCS, Reliance and Gujarat Ambuja are the other significant gainers.

Hero Honda has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 765. Reliance Communications, HDFC and HDFC Bank are down over 1% each.

Out of 2,534 stocks traded so far, 1,252 have declined, 1,183 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
