Sensex lacklustre; metal index up 2%

The Sensex is still in the red and is exhibiting lacklustre movement.The index is now at 17,024, down 26 points.

The NSE Nifty is at flat at 5,062. Among the sectoral indices, the BSE metal index has added 1.5% to 16,241.

Reliance Infrastructure has slipped 2.5% to Rs 1,150. Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Reliance are down 1% each at Rs 1,629, Rs 908, Rs 2,728 and Rs 2,109, respectively.

Tata Motors has soared 2.5% to Rs 642. Wipro, Tata Steel, Infosys, ONGC and ITC are up over 1% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive, out of 2,739 shares traded. 1,615 shares have advanced and 1,042 have declined so far on the BSE.
