The Sensex is exhibiting lacklustre movement since opening in red this morning. The index attempted a rebound and touched a high of 8,619 in early trades, however, it slipped back to a low of 8,516.
The Sensex is now down 20 points at 8,586.
Tata Power has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 685. Sun Pharma has shed 3.5% at Rs 960.
Bharti Airtel has dropped over 3% to Rs 598, and ITC has slipped 2.5% to to Rs 174.
HDFC has declined 2% to Rs 1,212. HDFC Bank and Infosys are down around 1.5% each at Rs 833 and Rs 1,202, respectively.
Grasim has surged 2.5% to Rs 1,357. Reliance and Ranbaxy are up 1% each at Rs 1,238 and Rs 162, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,067 stocks traded so far, 1,212 have declined, 773 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
