Sensex marginally down; Tata Steel sheds 4%

The Sensex has recovered most of its losses and is now down marginally at 9,618 - down 29 points.

Tata Steel and Reliance Infrastructure have slumped over 4% each to Rs 189 and Rs 539, respectively.

Ranbaxy has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 224. Grasim has shed 2.6% at Rs 1,380.

Tata Motors and TCS have dropped over 2% each to Rs 136 and Rs 513, respectively.

ONGC, Larsen & Toubro and Sun Pharma have slipped over 1.7% each.

Maruti and Jaiprakash Associates have surged 2.7% each to Rs 625 and Rs 77, respectively.

HDFC and Reliance Communications are up 1% each at Rs 1,523 and Rs 173, respectively.

 

The market breadth is marginally negative - out of 2,353 stocks traded so far, 1,159 have declined, 1,098 have advanced and 96 are unchanged.
