Sensex marginally in red; RCoVL up at Rs 312

The Sensex is moving in a narrow band of 50-odd points and is now down eight points at 10,727.

Cipla and HLL have surged over 2% each to Rs 576 and Rs 249, respectively.

NTPC and Bajaj Auto are up 1.5% each at Rs 138 and Rs 2,767, respectively.

Bharti Tele, Tata Power and ITC are the other prominent gainers.

Hindalco has shed 2% to Rs 164.

Infosys, Satyam and ICICI Bank have dropped over 1% each to Rs 2,815, Rs 791 and Rs 605, respectively.

ONGC, Wipro, Ranbaxy and Tata Steel are the other notable losers among the Sensex stocks.

The market breadth fairly positive. Out of 1,718 stocks traded so far, 962 have advanced, 705 have declined and 51 are unchanged.

Newly listed Reliance Communication Ventures (RCoVL) is trading at the day's high of Rs 312 on a volume of around 35 lakh shares.
