After a strong opening, the Sensex continues to move in a narrow range of 100 points. The Nifty is currently up 55 points at 5,710 and the Sensex gained 183 points at 19,065. In the broader markets, the smallcap is up 0.9% in line with the Sensex and the midcap index has added 0.7%.
Among the sectoral indices, IT, Metal and Bankex up 1% each continues to lead the chart followed by Consumer Durables and FMCG. Power, Oil & Gas and Realty gaining 0.4% each are the laggards in the morining trades.
TCS up nearly 3%, Wipro, Sterlite, Tata Steel and Cipla gaining 2% each are the top gainers on the Sensex.
On the losers list are Reliance Infrastructure down 2%, Tata Power, Hero Honda and DLF shedding 1% each.
The market breadth is very positive. 1527 stocks have advanced while 771 have declined.
