Sensex moves sideways; Tata Motors sheds 5%

The Sensex is moving sideways and is now at 16,122, down 160 points.

The NSE NIfty is at 4,777, down 48 points.

Tata Motors has shed 5% to Rs 535 and Jaiprakash Associates has dropped 4.5% to Rs 211, respectively.

Tata Steel, Reliance Communications,DLF and Sterlite Industries have declined over 3% each.

Hindalco, Hero Honda, Bharti Airtel and BHEL have shed 2% each.

Hindustan Unilever has added 2% to Rs 284 and Sun Pharma is up 1% at Rs 1,392, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally negative, out of 2,218 shares traded, 1,633 have declined and 527 have advanced so far on the BSE.

 

The BSE Realty and the metal indices continue to drag the makets, down around 3% each.
