Sensex moves up 31 pts, HDFC Bank rises

The market is steadily gaining momentum in current trades, with the Sensex now up 31 points at 6,601.

Reliance is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 543. While HLL is still flat at Rs 140, ITC is down a per cent (Rs 11) at Rs 1,276.

HDFC Bank has added 1.75% (Rs 10) to Rs 579. ICICI Bank (up Rs 2 to Rs 370) and SBI (up a rupee to Rs 686) are trading with steady gains.

HPCL has gained 2.40% (Rs 8) to Rs 352.

Grasim has moved up 1.60% (Rs 21) to Rs 1,340. Gujarat Ambuja and ACC are still up a per cent each at Rs 438 and Rs 364, respectively.

L&T has notched up 2.42% gains (Rs 26) to Rs 1,108, while Bharti has gained 1.66% (Rs 4) to Rs 223.

Infosys is trading weaker by Rs 4 at Rs 2,175. Other tech majors, too, are largely weak.
