Sensex off day's high

The Sensex has pared some of its gains due to profit-booking. The index has touched a low of 16,030, down 202 points from day's high. The BSE-30 share index is now at 16,146, up 31 points. The NSE Nifty is now at 4,813, up 31 points

Among the sectoral indices, BSE metal index continues to gain, followed by oil & gas and bankex. However, FMCG index has led the decline followed by auto index.

Hindalco and Sterlite have advanced nearly 4% each to Rs 112 and Rs 733, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has gained 3.5% to Rs 1,203.

Reliance and SBI have added 3% each to Rs 2,062 and Rs 1,868.

Hindustan Unilever has declined nearly 3% to Rs 266. Tata Power has has shed 2.5% to Rs 1,286.

Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,521 and Rs 841, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped after gaining continuously for 12 days.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,856 stocks, 1,482 have declined, while 1,303 have advanced.
