Sensex off day's high

The Sensex is now at 16,394, up 180 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 4,873, up 64 points.

The BSE Realty index has surged 3.5% to 4,358. Metal, auto and bankex indices follow it, up 1.5-2.5% each.

DLF has soared 4% to Rs 409. Sterlite, Hero Honda and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced around 3% each to Rs 739, Rs 1,603 and Rs 238, respectively.

TCS, HDFC and SBI have added over 2% each to Rs 560, Rs 2,503 and Rs 1,956, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever and ONGC are marginally down on the BSE so far.

The market breadth remains extremely positive, out of 2,700 shares traded, 1,824 advanced and 793 declined so far on the BSE.
