Sensex off day's high; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex touched a high of 9,279, and is now up 139 points at 9,230.

Tata Motors and TCS have surged 4.7% each to Rs 138 and Rs 505, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has soared over 4% to Rs 542. Grasim has gained 3.5% at Rs 1,371.

ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy have moved up 3% each to Rs 403 and Rs 215, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance have advanced 2.8% each to Rs 274 and Rs 1,322, respectively. DLF has added 2.5% to Rs 143.

Tata Steel, Jaiprakash Associates and SBI are up around 2% each at Rs 186, Rs 70 and Rs 1,115, respectively.

 

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,160 stocks traded so far, 1,379 have advanced, 692 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
