Sensex off day's high; DLF surges 6%

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 76 points at 9,312. Earlier in the day, the index opened 125 points lower at 9,111, and touched a low of 9,087. The index, thereafter, rebounded into the positive zone and touched a high of 9,356.

DLF has soared 6% to Rs 175, and Jaiprakash Associates has surged 5.5% to Rs 73.

Ranbaxy has rallied over 5% to Rs 221. Sterlite and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 3.5% each at Rs 277 and Rs 575, respectively.

SBI has advanced over 3% to Rs 1,132. ONGC has moved up 2.7% to Rs 657.

 

Maruti and Reliance have added 2.5% each to Rs 559 and Rs 1,299, respectively. Larsen & Toubro is up over 2% at Rs 675.

Sun Pharma has slumped 7% to Rs 1,064. BHEL has plunged 3% to Rs 1,315.

Tata Motors has dropped 2% to Rs 148. Tata Steel and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined 1.3% each to Rs 181 and Rs 292, respectively.

ICICI Bank and NTPC are down over 1% each at Rs 404 and Rs 188, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,324 stocks traded so far, 1,110 have advanced, 1,091 have declined and 123 are unchanged.
