Sensex off day's low, down 176pts

The Sensex opened in the red today at 11,774. It touched a low of 11,696.

However, the index is off the day's low and is now at 11843, down 176 points.

Bharti Airtel has shed 4% to Rs 767. Tata Motors has dropped 3.5% to Rs 259.

ICICI Bank and Sterlite have declined 3% each to Rs 532 and Rs 461, respectively. Tata Steel, Wipro and HDFC Bank have slipped over 2% each.

Infosys, Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance, SBI, Larsen & Toubro, HDFC, Hindustan Unilever, ONGC, Reliance Communications, BHEL, Ranbaxy and Sun Pharma are also down.

However, realty major, DLF is up 1% at Rs 235.
