Sensex off day's low; M&M, Jaiprakash shed 5%

The Sensex opened nearly flat at 8,804 - down 10 points. The index, thereafter, moved up to a high of 8,859, before slipping into red to a low of 8,719. The index is now down 34 points at 8,779.

Jaiprakash Associates and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) have slumped 5% each to Rs 63 and Rs 274, respectively.

Wipro and Tata Power have plunged over 3% each to Rs 210 and Rs 692, respectively.

Tata Steel has shed 2.5% at Rs 175. Infosys, BHEL and Larsen & Toubro have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,203, Rs 1,339 and Rs 651, respectively.

 

Sterlite and Sun Pharma have declined around 2% each to Rs 239 and Rs 1,082, respectively.

However, Reliance has moved up 1.8% to Rs 1,153 backed by better-than-expected Q3 numbers.
