Sensex off day's low; Sun Pharma gains 2%

The Sensex opened 90 points lower at 9,316. After touching a high of 9,331, the index slipped deeper into red to a low of 9,097. The index has recovered partially and is now down 193 points at 9,214.

Wipro has slumped 9.5% to Rs 227. Reliance Infrastructure has tumbled nearly 7% to Rs 481.

Reliance, DLF and Hindalco have plunged around 4.5% each to Rs 1,099, Rs 208 and Rs 50, respectively.

Sterlite has shed 3.8% at Rs 263. NTPC and TCS have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 172 and Rs 517, respectively.

Tata Power and BHEL have slipped 3% each to Rs 725 and Rs 1,374, respectively.

 

ITC, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Steel have declined 2.5% each to Rs 165, Rs 702 and Rs 209, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has surged 3% to Rs 71.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Sun Pharma have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 317 and Rs 1,121, respectively.
