Sensex off the day's low; ONGC, Reliance slip

The Sensex is now recovering from the day's low of 11,098. The index is now at 11,179 - still down 106 points. Earlier in the day, the index opened at 11,358, up 73 points, and touched a high of 11,367.
 
DLF has soared 5.5% to Rs 270. Reliance Communications has surged 3.5% to Rs 238. Sun Pharma, Grasim and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied over 2.5% each to Rs 1,124, Rs 1,664 and Rs 126, respectively.

However, Ranbaxy has slumped 3.5% to Rs 193. Infosys and Mahindra & Mahindra are down more than 2% each.

ONGC, Reliance, HDFC, Wipro and HDFC Bank are down 1-2% each.

 

The market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,418 stocks traded, 1,220 have advanced, and 1,125 have declined.
