Sensex on recovery path; Ranbaxy up 2%

The Sensex has recovered most of its lost ground and is now down 13 points at 9361.

Ranbaxy has added 2% to Rs 393.

HDFC Bank at Rs 743, Reliance Energy at Rs 603 and Larsen & Toubro at Rs 1,829, are up 1.5% each.

BHEL and ACC have gained 1.3% each at Rs 1,480 and Rs 543, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, HLL and ONGC are the other notable gainers.

Reliance and ICICI Bank are down 1.7% each at Rs 870 and Rs 574, respectively.

Tata Steel has slipped 1.2% to Rs 362, and Infosys is down 1% at Rs 2,819.

Grasim, NTPC, TCS, ITC and HDFC are the also trading in red.

Out of 2,475 stocks traded so far, 1,117 have advanced, 1,236 have declined and the rest are unmoved.

Reliance tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 387.56 crore followed by Educomp Solutions (Rs 124.90 crore), Bartroncis (Rs 61.41 crore), SBI (Rs 52.61 crore) and Piramyd Retial (Rs 33.89 crore).

Bartronics leads the volume chart with trades of around 49.20 lakh shares followed by Reliance (45.57 lakh shares), Educomp Solutions (38.42 lakh shares), Radhav Madhav (25.08 lakh shares) and PBA Infrastrcuture (19.70 lakh shares).
