The Sensex added eight points to open at 6,367 and moved up touch an early high of 6,376 on selective buying support. However, profit-taking in pharma, select banks and other heavyweights pulled the index down to a low of 6340. The Sensex is now down two points at 6,357, while the Nifty is down a point at 1,962. SBI is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 612. HDFC Bank (down Rs 2 to Rs 545) is also trading weak, while ICICI Bank is up 1.26% (Rs 5) at Rs 382. Ranbaxy has shed 2% (Rs 20) to Rs 964, while Dr. Reddy's has lost 2.19% (Rs 15) to Rs 657. Cipla is down a notch at Rs 266. Bharti has lost 1.26% (Rs 3) to Rs 215. Infosys is up Rs 8 at Rs 2,005, while Reliance is up Rs 2 at Rs 542. Grasim has added 1.25% (Rs 14) to Rs 1,154. While ACC is up 1.12% (Rs 4) at Rs 374, Gujarat Ambuja has commenced with a per cent gain (Rs 2) to Rs 428. |
