Sensex opens weak

After yesterday's late sell-off, the Sensex faltered in early trades today as most of the counters eased further from their last close. The Sensex, as a result, has lost 20 points to 6,637, while the Nifty has dipped six points to 2,091.

Reliance (down Rs 3 to Rs 556) and ITC (down Rs 6 to Rs 1,290) have resumed weak. HLL is down a tad at Rs 130.

SBI has shed 1.14% (Rs 8) to Rs 714. HDFC Bank has lost 1.45% (Rs 8) to Rs 552, while ICICI Bank is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 405.

Infosys, after logging gains yesterday, has declined a per cent (Rs 15) to Rs 2,221 in early trades. While Satyam is down Rs 2 at Rs 404, Wipro is marginally weak at Rs 684.

Bajaj has tumbled 1.71% (Rs 18) to Rs 1,063, and Tata Motors is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 448.

Bharti has slipped 1.30% (Rs 3) to Rs 209.
