Sensex opens weak, down 19 pts

The Sensex has slipped in early trades following weakness in tech, select heavyweight and other old economy counters. It is now down 19 points at 6,359, while the Nifty has lost four points to 1,967.

Infosys has commenced lower with a per cent loss (Rs 17) at Rs 1,971. Wipro (down Rs 8 to Rs 643) and Satyam (down Rs 2 to Rs 421), too, have eased in early trades.

Reliance and ONGC have slipped a per cent each to Rs 542 (down Rs 4) and Rs 857 (down Rs 5), respectively. ITC is up Rs 3 at Rs 1,390, and HLL is marginally up at Rs 134.

ICICI Bank has dipped a per cent (Rs 4) to Rs 404. SBI and HDFC Bank are up a rupee each at Rs 625 and Rs 541, respectively.

Tata Motors is down a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 440. Maruti is resumed weak at Rs 436 - down Rs 3.

L&T has lost a per cent (Rs 7) to Rs 989.
