Maruti has soared over 5% to Rs 579.
Jaiprakash Associates, Mahindra & Mahindra and ITC have surged around 5% each to Rs 161, Rs 499 and Rs 179, respectively.
Satyam has rallied 4.6% to Rs 484. ACC and Hindalco have advanced 4% each to Rs 498 and Rs 144, respectively.
SBI and Hindustan Unilever have gained 3.5% each at Rs 1,167 and Rs 209, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure has moved up 3.3% to Rs 799. Bharti Airtel, DLF and ICICI Bank are up 3% each at Rs 738, Rs 427 and Rs 618, respectively.
Reliance Communicaitions (RCom) has tumbled 3.3% to Rs 424. Tata Motors has shed 1.8% at Rs 394, and Reliance has slipped 1.4% to Rs 2,070.
Out of 2,662 stocks traded so far, 1,973 have advanced, 639 have declined and 50 are unchanged.
