Sensex pare gains, up 30pts; Satyam zooms 5%

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 30 points at 16,930.

Satyam has zoomed 5% to Rs 432, and TCS has soared 3.8% to Rs 1,040. Wipro and Infosys have surged around 3% each to Rs 450 and Rs 1,823, repsectively.

HDFC has rallied 2.4% to Rs 2,452. Reliance Communications has moved up 1.8% to Rs 605.

Tata Steel and Cipla have gained 1.4% each at Rs 754 and Rs 172, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy are up 1% each at Rs 1,000 and Rs 428, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,362.

Reliance and Reliance Energy have slipped over 2% each to Rs 2,346 and Rs 1,067, respectively.

Tata Motors and Maruti have declined 1.4% each to Rs 730 and Rs 977, respectively. Hindustan Unilever is down over 1% at Rs 224.

Out of 2,581 stocks traded so far, 1,569 have advanced, 944 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
