Sensex pared gains, up 51pts

The Sensex after touching a high of 14,020, and pared some gains and is now up 51 points at 13,993.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 2.6% to Rs 2,810. Ranbaxy has surged 2.4% to Rs 408. Tata Motors has moved up 1.6% to Rs 945.

NTPC has spurted 1% to Rs 140. Infosys, Gujarat Ambuja, SBI and Maruti are the other prominent gainers.

Out of 2,232 stocks traded so far 1,559 have advanced, 610 have declined and 63 are unchanged.
