Sensex pares gain; up 93pts

The Sensex has pared its gains following negative cues from the European market. The index is now at 14,968, up 93 points.

The BSE FMCG and the CD indices have soared 3% each at 2,229 and 2,988, respectively. The Metal index is up 2.5% at 12,040.

The IT index is down 1% at 3,091.

The Mid-cap has added 2% at 5,347 and the Small-cap has soared 2.5% at 6,417.

Tata Motors has surged 6.5% to Rs 372. Sterlite, Jaiprakash Associates and ITC have soared 5% to 725, Rs 227, and  Rs 201, respectively.

Reliance Communications, ACC and Hindalco have added 4% each at Rs 334, Rs 820 and Rs 91, respectively.

 

Tata Steel, Grasim and Ranbaxy gained over 3% each at Rs 490, Rs 2,284 and Rs 270, respectively.

Tata Power, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Infrastructures, Maruti and DLF are up 1-2% each.

Mahindra & Mahindra and SBI have slipped 2% each to Rs 710 and Rs 1,872 , respectively.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,738 shares traded so far, 2,099 have advanced and 593 have declined so far on the BSE.
