Sensex pares gains; CG index up 2%

The Sensex has pared some of its gains and touched a low of 14,298.

The index is now at 14,352, up 86 points.

The BSE Capital Goods (CG) lead the rally so far. It is up over 2% at 11,997.

Tata Motors has advanced 4% to Rs 341.

Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Communications and Larsen & Toubro have gained over 2.5% each at Rs 1,237, Rs 307 and Rs 1,453, respectively.

Tata Steel and DLF have advanced 2% each to Rs 398 and Rs 329, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, SBI, Infosys and Sterlite are up 1.5% each.

NTPC has slipped 3% to Rs 196.

 

Tata Power, ONGC and ICICI Bank have dropped over 2% each to Rs 1,145, Rs 987 and Rs 690, respectively.

The market breadth is positive- out of 1,956 shares traded, 1,108 have advanced and 793 have declined so far on the BSE.
